About Us
Every year, at least 50 students join the Miami University club tennis team. The club is made up of all levels, so everyone is welcome. Our season begins in September and ends in April.
Outdoor practices are held at the varsity courts behind Yager, the football stadium. These are brand new courts, so proper tennis shoes are required. Practices are Monday through Thursday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The club reserves the tennis courts and provides the tennis balls. Winter practices are held indoors at Riverside Athletic Club in Hamilton, usually twice a week at a time to be determined. Club members provide transportation to indoor practices. Practices throughout the year are NOT mandatory, so attend at your own convenience. Updates on practice times and cancellations can be found on the Facebook page.
The team is a part of USTA Tennis On Campus, so we participate in tournaments to gain tennis rankings. Tournaments are open to all members, but only the top eight players are selected. If you are interested in traveling, challenge the team's top players to try and earn a spot. If there is an opportunity to take more than one team to a tournament, more members will be taken. There are usually about four to six tournaments per year. To participate in any traveling match or tournament, the member must be a registered USTA member. This does cost a minimal fee (not included in member dues) and is a rule under the USTA Midwest section. Find instructions on the FAQ page.
Please direct any questions not found on the FAQ page to an Officer. Thank you!
